Policy + Advocacy for Climate and Health
The Policy and Advocacy workgroup empowers CACHE members to use their voices as health professional voices to advocate for policies that address climate change and strengthen climate resilience. We work in close partnership with the NC Conservation Network and other organizations to center the needs of communities most impacted by climate and health inequities. Nationally, we collaborate with the Medical Society Consortium on Climate and Health to advance federal policy initiatives.
We advocate for climate solutions that benefit health right now - including:
A transition to clean energy
Clean, accessible transportation
Policies that protect the health and safety of patients and providers, especially in the face of extreme weather and environmental hazards
